“Ugh, carrots,” Deshawn groaned as his picked up the veggies from the produce section.

He had never bought carrots in his life. In fact, vegetables in general weren’t his thing. But they were on his list; the list of groceries that Marcia was allowing him to buy. He had swapped into her body as a result of the Great Shift, and she was doing her best to control him. She was already giving him grief for dressing in a way that she called “too trashy.” That was an argument Deshawn won, but he did promise to buy things from the grocery store as she had instructed.

But he began to think about it. It’s not like she was here looking over his shoulder. She couldn’t really tell him what he could and couldn’t eat; it wasn’t her body anymore anyway. He gentle placed the carrots back and opted for some thick steaks instead. Then he really started going wild in the snack aisle...

On the Other Hand

Kenneth wasn’t the only one of his friends to find himself in a woman’s body after The Great Shift, but he still considered himself pretty lucky. Almost all the other guys in his same situation claim they were saddled with a wardrobe filled with skirts and dresses, skimpy outfits, and revealing clothes. Kenneth, on the other hand, seemed to have no shortage of sweatshirts and yoga pants. He wondered if the whole thing had been unplanned karma or a bit of calculated revenge. He knew some of his guy friends had been stereotypical jerks to women. The women they swapped with were generally well aware of this, and might selected clothes to share that they knew would be absolute torture to those guys. Kenneth, on the other hand, was generally considered a nice guy. He imagined the relaxing, comfortable clothes from the friend he swapped with were a bit of a “thank you” for being such...

Flash (Part 1)

In the distance it looked like a flash of lightning, but then the strange light hit him like truck. Jason was knocked off his feet and onto the ground. He picked himself up, feeling quite odd. He grabbed his head with a throbbing pain, and as he got to his feet he noticed the change to his body. He was wearing a short dress, and he had a womans body. It wasn’t his body! What had happened. His jaw dropped. He couldn’t be a woman; he just couldn’t! It was impossible! Yet the evidence was right there when he looked down. The short orange dress, the high heels. He was a woman!

Sorry

It had been ten years now since Theodore made the biggest discovery of his career. With the proper electrical stimulus, it appeared to be possible for two subjects to completely transfer thoughts. Essentially, he could build a rudimentary device to hit just the right frequency and two people would be able to swap brains. The potential seemed promising, and he worked to develop it with his young research assistant, Melinda.

Both Theodore and Melinda were eager to test out the theory, so they agreed to use the device on themselves. They simply put their hands on the device and turned it on. It began to buzz and the next thing Theodore knew, he had Melinda’s body. His amazement was short lived as he saw his own 70 year old body having a seizure on the floor.

After watching his own body die (and feeling guilty about Melinda being inside it at the time), he destroyed the device and burned his notes. And each month for the past ten years, he came by where his body was buried to place flowers. All that he had accomplished and all he gained had come at such a great price that he knew he nothing could ever be enough to say sorry...

As Nathan continued to flip through the pages of the book, he contemplated how completely insane it was. There were magic spells in here to control someone’s thoughts and actions, to stop or reverse time, and to change the weather. He had already picked one spell at random to cast, just to see if this book was legit. That had been a body swap spell, and seeing how he was presently inhabiting the body of Lily Chang, he was pretty sure the entire book was real. It was all still so hard to believe, yet all he could think about was which spell he was going to cast next.

Stage Fright

Jackson walked out onto the stage nervously as the spotlight shone brightly on him. He could feel the heat of it on his bare shoulders. It was effortless to stand on the tips of his toes thanks to swapping bodies with Angela. He had her body’s athleticism, so this sort of thing was no problem. Before she went on stage, she told him that he should be able to do the entire routine on muscle memory. To just listen to the music start and her body would know what to do. However, the music started and Jackson was frozen. In hindsight, it seemed insane. Just because he swapped bodies with Angela and he could pull off all of her moves didn’t mean he’d be able to do a complicated choreography routine on instinct. He was sure this would be ruining her career. He had begged her to call in sick or fake an injury after the swap, but she was so sure this would work.

After Justin graduated law school, he went looking for a job. It proved difficult for him to get a job at any firm. Being fresh out of school, he lacked much experience, but almost everyone didn’t want to bring him on a junior lawyer. They figured he wouldn’t be able to keep up with the demands since he looked so old. The only offer he eventually got was to be a secretary, which felt humiliating yet he accepted it anyway. He thought about going off on to practice on his own, but he’d need to build up some savings first, which was hard as a secretary. Every day at work was just depressing. Heck, every day since he first got this body had just been worse and worse...

Not a Single Word

Eugene never expected anything like THIS to happen to him while he was on vacation in Japan. He had just gotten into his hotel room and began to settle in when the lights started to flash. The next thing he knew, he was in an office building, amongst a group of people going home for the day. Looking down, he could see that he was dressed in a reasonable skirt suit, and he now had a very nice female body. A huge grin soon showed on his face. He wasn’t sure how he had swapped bodies with this woman, but it was a dream come true. He couldn’t wait to start living her life. The only problem? He didn’t know a single word of Japanese!

Coping

Coping with the Great Shift was hard for many. Across the globe reactions ranged from excitement to depression. Jeffrey was shocked when he realized he was in the body of an Asian woman. He tried shaving his head to feel more masculine, but it didn’t help. In response, he began to cry, which didn’t help his emotional state. He believed that men didn’t cry, only women. And it only further solidified that feeling of being unable to accept his new body...

Perfect Storm

There had been a storm outside, one of the worst Jeff had ever seen. He didn’t think much until a bright light and a loud crash struck his house. The power went out. He reached around in the dark only to discover everything had been moved around. He quickly realized he wasn’t in his own house, and -- even weirder -- he didn’t even seem to be in his own body. In the darkness, through touch alone, he realized he was now a woman. He looked for her phone, but the battery seemed to dead. It seemed far too dangerous to venture out, so he just did his best to try and get some sleep.

Forgetting the events of the night before, he woke up once again shocked by his new body. The power was still out but the water seemed to be working, so he did his best to clean up and change clothes. It as weird digging through someone else’s wardrobe -- particularly a woman’s -- but he finally settled on something he felt he wouldn’t be too uncomfortable wearing. As he stepped out on the back porch, he saw the storm had cleared. If he could find her car keys inside, maybe he could venture out? Perhaps he could figure out what was going on, or maybe even figure out how a bolt of lightning seemingly swapped him into someone else’s body.

Anthony had been in a big rush all morning. He was late for work and needed to move fast. After a quickly showering and getting dressed, he bolted down the stairs of his apartment building. But he was forced to take a break when a bright light seemed to blast him out of nowhere, and it felt like the wind got knocked out of him.

He sat on the steps for a few minutes, feeling out of sorts. He lifted his hand to his head to check if he was alright and felt a strange poofy feeling in his fingers. He seemed to have a lot of hair for some reason. And that wasn’t the only change by any means! The tight pants, the bare midriff, the feminine shape...he was in the body of a woman!

What the heck was going on? He knew he was already running late for work, but now that he seemed to be in someone else’s body, it was going to be even later...

Law Degree (Part 1)

“Just look at me,” Justin said while pointing to his face, “I have the body of a 40 year old woman thanks to that accident. By the time I finish getting my law degree, I’ll probably be going through menopause or something. Who’s going to hire me when I’m already over the hill?”

“Relax, honey,” His mom said, “Your brain was transferred into that body to save your life. The doctors gave you all the paperwork to prove who you really are, and that you’re actually 23 years old.”

“Sometimes I wish you had let me die instead.”

“Please don’t talk like that, Justin. It’s horrible. Everyone is glad you survived that terrible accident.”

Difficult

Ryan thought that finding himself in a woman’s body in the wake of the Great Shift would motivate him to exercise more often. After all, he wanted his body to look good. But after a week solid, he learned an important lesson: jogging was really difficult! He had probably only been running for about five minutes and he was already exhausted. He took a quick stretch as he groaned, realizing at the very least, he’d have to run five more minutes back to his house. Maintaining a good body was hard work!

Loophole

Derek smiled as he looked over the legal brief his lawyer had sent over. When he had swapped bodies with Nancy a few days ago, it was supposed to only be for a week, but Derek simply loved being in her body. He knew he needed to find a loophole to stay in it. He hired the best attorney he could find. This brief was the result. It might not guarantee that he’d be able to stay in Nancy’s body forever, but it should tie things up long enough in the court to allow him to remain being her for a very, very long time.

After many decades working at the station as head anchor, Chip Winks was being forced into retirement. He wasn’t going out without a fight, and his plan to keep his job was quite devilish--downright black magic, in fact. He had a spell to swap bodies with his co-anchor and successor, Kimberly Lee, He decided to cast it during what would have otherwise been his final commercial break, right before Kimberly was scheduled to give Chip a fond farewell speech. It was now Chip giving that speech in Kim’s body. The cameras panned away from the horrified look on Chip’s face, which had Kim’s soul inside now.

Sorority

The Coach of the college’s men’s soccer team had been unchanged as a result of the Great Shift, but it seemed not a single member of his team was so lucky. It appears his team had not been far away from the Alpha Kappa sorority at the time of the massive body switching event. As a result, it didn’t look like he had much of a team anymore. Despite the men’s drive to continue, they were now all in the bodies of the Alpha Kappa’s, who had a reputation for being studious and not very athletic.

Dodged a Bullet

As his wedding day approached, Brian was starting to have doubts about marrying Shelley. She had just slowly morphed from the sweet woman he had dated into a total bitch. But with the wedding right around the corner, he knew it was too late to back out. Even as he stood at the altar, he wanted out. The moment before he said, “I do,” the world froze. Things got blurry for a moment, and his perspective changed. He was suddenly looking at Shelley’s back instead of her face. He soon discovered he was now inside the body of one of her bridesmaids, Brittany. He had no clue how it happened, but he had gotten out! He had escaped! He had the biggest smile in the crowd at the reception, watching his old body dance with Shelley.He didn’t know much about Brittany’s life, but he knew he dodged a bullet here!

Going Native

It was quite amazing that the remote tropical paradise had gone undiscovered for so long. Only in the last decade or so had the small island opened up to tourism and commerce; the natives were quite unhappy about it. They often captured tourists and performed rituals on them. Bruno had been vacationing resting at night on the beach when the islanders swooped him up. He awoke at sunrise tied to a post. There appeared to be a young native woman tied up facing him a few feet away. As the sun lifted in the sky, he noticed her body change. She became taller and more masculine. She started to look a lot like him, in fact. At the same time, Bruno shrunk, slowly turning into her! Bruno cursed. No one would believe who he really was! He wouldn’t be able to use his passport to get back home. He’d be stuck here forever, and that was exactly the natives plan..

Brent and Ashley had been friends since they were in first grade, but the two had very different upbringings. Brent was born to rich parents, ended up going to Columbia University, and scored a high paying job on Wall Street. Ashley lived a tough life and though she finished high school, she had to get a low-paying job right after to help her family. They kept in touch through the years, and one night over drinks Ashley drunkenly wished she had Brent’s life. Brent smiled and told her that if he could give it to her, he would, not thinking of any possible consequence. But something magical must’ve been listening, as the two instantly found themselves in the other’s body. The two could barely fathom what had happened to them, but for the time being they agreed to pretend to be each other, otherwise people would think they were crazy! Brent got on the subway to head to Ashley’s home. He dug through her purse to find a lottery ticket with one part still not scratched off. Discovering he just won $50 million made being stuck in Ashley’s body seem not all that bad!

Like a Good Neighbor

George had been out mowing his lawn when a bright light blinded him. He fell to the ground with a thud. He cleared his vision by blinking a few times and was wondering how he ended up on his neighbor’s walkway. It got even weirder for him when he realized he had the body of his neighbor’s daughter who was back in town after her first year at college. It wasn’t long before he found out the entire neighborhood had switched bodies. And a little longer before they all realized that the phenomenon had affected the entire world!

Dumped

It had been a rough few months for Dave since he lost his job. In order to stay afloat he often went to the dump to look for items he could repair or sell. It was on one of these trips when his eye was drawn to a sparkling object. When he reached down to pick it up, a beam of light shot at him. The next thing he knew, his body had been suddenly transformed. His new hands looked so delicate--certainly not suited for digging through the dump! In fact, his whole body was now a thing of beauty, so shapely, gorgeous, and feminine. He was a woman! He hoped that he had a new life to go with this new body; he didn’t want to have to dig through the trash ever again!

One Pill Makes You...

When Ray arrived at the rave, his friend gave him a strange pill. Not one to reject free drugs, Ray popped it immediately. His surroundings became bright and colorful, and he felt a wonderful jolt of bliss. The feeling was so euphoric that he didn’t notice the pill’s one strange side effect--it had completely changed his gender! He wouldn’t notice that he was now a woman until the next morning, when all the other effects of the pill had worn off.

Not Any Time Soon

Jason knew to expect changes after going off to college, but he never expected one of them would be finding himself in someone else’s body within the first week! He was in his dorm room when it happened. His vision blurred for a moment, and his dorm room suddenly became different. He sat down to soak it all in and noticed the clothes on his body and the shape of it. He was definitely a woman now. He could feel the long hair on his head and glasses on his face. After taking a moment to calm down, he went out to the common area.

There was a television on and many of the other students gathered as well. The news reports were calling it “The Great Shift,” and many of his classmates were in a panic. Jason was trying to be calmer than most, but he had lots of questions that he knew he wasn’t getting answers to any time soon.

Fix Things

Greg was certainly surprised when the magic spell he cast worked, transforming his best friend Dave into a gorgeous female. Dave was a little less than pleased.

“You better find a solution to this fast or else I’m going to pound you into the ground, and I don’t care what body I’m in to do that,” Dave threatened.

Greg quickly found a spell that promised to fix things, but after he cast it, he was surprised to see Dave still standing there with the body of a woman, hold his hand on his head as if he had a headache.

“Are you okay, Dave?” Greg asked.

“Who’s Dave?” Dave asked in an equally monotone yet flirtatious way, “My name is Sheila and I want to suck your co---”

“Whoa!” Greg interrupted, not wanting to think about his best friend in that way (even if he did have an attractive female body at the moment).

Dave persisted, “If you don’t drop your pants right now, I am going to pound you into the ground.”

The Clinic

Eric reached his hand around in order to try and feel ever inch of his new body. It was sort of amazing what the clinic could do. You’d simply select a body from the catalog, you’d go into the machine, and the next thing you knew, you’d have that body. Today, Eric selected the body of a beautiful Asian woman, and now that body was his. The technology had gotten so advanced that he didn’t just look this way, this was his actual body. With this body, he was capable of having cycles or getting pregnant. It was a phenomenal achievement in science. It was hard for him to believe this technology wasn’t more popular.

Made

“I can’t believe that after how much money I spent on this vacation I end up swapping bodies with one of the maids, and the resort actually expects me to do her job while in her body. What are the chances?” Chuck complained.

“I’ve been here a dozen times, and this is the first time it’s happened to me,” Doug interjected, “At least I’ll be checking out and swapping back to my own body tomorrow.”

“Uh...” Gavin added, “I was supposed to check out two months ago, and it never happened. They wouldn’t let me check out, I couldn’t get on the plane; I was just sort of stuck with this life. I hate to break it to you guys, but we’re all maids at Exchange Island’s resort now...for good.”

Intentional Malfunction

After Garret turned on his invention, everyone in the room was shocked to find themselves in someone else’s body -- even Garret! Jason didn’t seem to take being in Yumi’s body so well; he retreated to the corner to sulk and cry.

Garret, now in Amanda’s body, approached and tried to assure Jason that it was going to be okay. That he would find a way to fix things and get everyone back to normal.

Jason slowly turned his head and simply stared at Garret with an evil eye before moving it back in order to continue sulking. Jason knew he was playing this just right. With this attitude no one would suspect that he was the one that tampered with Garret’s invention to cause this swap. Garret may have been smart, but he was smarter. In fact, Jason had complete control over who everyone was going to swap with, and he knew Garret would never figure out his modifications or how to undo them. He’d get to keep Yumi’s body forever, and as long as he acted upset about it, no one would ever suspect him.

Astral

When Allen first discovered he could separate his soul from his body, he wasn't quite sure he knew what to do with this ability. He couldn't seem to interact with any physical items while in his astral form, which felt somewhat limiting.

He wasn't sure how the idea of possessing someone finally came into his head. But when he saw the woman alone on the street tying her shoes, he knew he had to try it. Even though he knew she couldn't see him, he approached slowly.

When he was right behind her, she stopped and looked back. Did she see him? No, that would be silly. But now wasn't the time for hesitation. He went straight for it by just trying to occupy the same space as she was.

And...it worked. He had successfully possessed her. He could control her. He wondered if she was aware of it, or if it was like she was asleep. Not that he cared all that much; none of that was going to stop him from having a good time tonight in this body.

Sushi

Tori and Andy had spent the past few days trying to figure out how to swap back into their own bodies to no avail. Neither had made a demand of the other so far, but Tori finally had a request. She had a date with Todd, and she needed Andy to go as her.

Andy agreed readily. He couldn't say no to a free meal. But when he arrived, he was a little taken back that it was a sushi restaurant. Andy's body was allergic to fish, so it had always been something he avoided; he realized he technically wasn't right now (since he was in Tori's body), but it was still an unusual food for him. He just sort of stared at the omakase that Todd had ordered for them.

"Is everything okay?” Todd asked, "I thought this was your favorite."

Andy realized Todd knew a lot more about Tori than he did, so he tried to insert the occasional smile amongst his frowns and down a few of the sushi pieces. He knew he probably didn't leave a good impression; Todd didn't even try to kiss him at the end of the night. Andy told himself he'd apologize to Tori the next day.

But the next day, Tori was nowhere to be found. She was a little sad about missing out on one of her favorite meals, so she ordered some takeout sushi on her own. Andy had never mentioned his fish allergy, so she was in the hospital by the end of the night. Andy couldn't get much information from the doctors, but it sounded serious and life threatening. If things turned truly south, he'd be stuck in Tori's body forever.

Holiday Job

As the holidays approached, Sam was in need of some extra cash. However, finding a part-time job proved to be difficult. His friend had told him about an opening at the mall for elves in the Christmas village they had set up. The only problem? At this point, they were only looking for females to fill the remaining rolls. Sam was desperate. He asked for help to pull off hair, makeup, padding, and more to pass as a woman. In the end, he was more than convincing and got the job on the spot. Being stuck as a holiday elf was certainly humiliating, and having to dress up a woman was just icing on that cake. The only plus side, he guessed, was that he was sure no one would ever recognize him. Each day when he went to work, he felt like he was going to cry, but he put on a smile and played his part as best he could...

Late

At this point, the bus seemed to be running at least half an hour late, but Mark still waited there patiently for it. In all honesty, he didn’t feel like he had much of a choice. Calling a taxi was off the table. After all, it was a taxi that was the reason he now had the body of a gorgeous woman. His body had been stolen by the driver, and then he had been able to be steal this woman’s body after that. While the odds of running into that same taxi were low, he still saw it as to much of a risk. He didn’t ever want there to even be the slightest chance of losing this body; it was far too amazing. And so he waited for the bus, no matter how late it was.
