Tom sighed as he girlfriend had given him a hard time about eating fast food ever since they switched bodies, "If I want to eat at Taco Bell, I'm going to eat at Taco Bell! Your body looks fine. In fact, you could actually stand to gain a few pounds. I feel like a twig in your body. And, yes, I know you were vegetarian, but I'm not! I don't tell you how to live your life in my body. Plus, it seem looks like they aren't going to find a cure to reverse the whole Great Shift thing. Just deal with it."

In Shock (Part 1)

In an understandable moment of shock, Jim dropped the papers and books in his hands. Of course, those papers and books hadn’t been there a second ago. In fact, Jim’s world had seemed to spin just a moment ago and he suddenly found himself in a different room -- and in a different body.

Jim noticed a name written on a few of the papers. The name was Kelly Purin -- his little sister? She had just gone off to college a few weeks ago. The whole family had been so proud, as she was the first member of their family to go to college.

However, figuring out whose body he was in didn’t exactly relieve Jim’s panic. He was still in a complete state of shock.

Snacking

“Michael!” Jane screamed at her boyfriend, “What are you doing?”

Michael couldn’t even imagine what he was doing wrong. Though it seemed that every since the Great Shift swapped him into Jane’s body, just about anything he did was wrong. He shrugged in response; he was at a loss.

“Chips will go straight to my thighs! Or your thighs! Stop eating those this instance of you won’t be able to fit into any of my clothes!”

Michael often snacked without thinking about it. It was true that he had gone into the kitchen to grab a bag to snack on. He made a mental note to add snacking onto the long list of things he should no longer do. Being in Jane’s body really wasn’t any fun at all.

Scientific Breakthrough

Visiting the rainforest was a dream come true for Grayson. He had studied for years to become a biologist and knew the unexplored terrain could hold many secrets. His first day out, he got bit by an unidentified bug. He tried to catch it, but it proved elusive. He was worried the next day when he felt ill. Soon he started to rapidly lose weight. It took about a week for the bug’s poison to take full effect in Grayson’s system. He had been hoping to find something unique, and he sure found it! After a recovery period, he returned to the rainforest. He needed to find that bug again! It was truly a unique species that had been capable of completely changing his gender with a single bite! If he was able to extract the poison, he might be able to engineer a reversal and get back to being a man. However, even if he couldn’t and he remained a woman, the scientific value of the bug’s gender-changing poison would be a breakthrough!

Harold's Legacy

Harold had always been a beloved figure in our town. He was a rich old dude with a big heart. We don’t know how he had his money invested, but he always gave to the town library, the little league, and local charities. Whatever he had his money in, it never seem to affect his bottom line, and he always gave more.

Shortly before he died, he started dating a young woman named Rose, who he eventually married. Considering how quick it happened, we all thought she killed him, but no one could prove it. With her now in charge of the funds, the generosity stopped. A few charities had to shut down, and things were looking bleak.

Then the Great Shift happened. And wouldn’t you know it? Suddenly, a guy like me found himself inside the body of Harold’s gold-digging widow, Rose. With a call to some accountants, I had all the donations resumed. When the real Rose turned up, she tried to protest and claim that she was the real Rose, but no one in town wanted to testify on her behalf. The numerous court cases were all thrown out. Everyone was certainly happy to pretend like I was the real Rose and have me manage Harold’s fortune. There was plenty of money to go around. I was able to live quite lavishly, and still continue the legacy of Harold’s generosity.

Long Process

‘Oh, thank goodness,’ Ivan thought to himself as he managed to get power running through the main conductor again. It was the first step in a long process to get his body swapping machine up-and-running again. If he didn’t get it working soon, he was pretty sure Clara’s husband would kill him. But things were at least starting to look promising, but he worried that the various parts were all too fragile and worn from the first test that had accidentally swapped him into Clara’s body in the first place. It was going to be a long night.

Lost

When a young girl got lost in the woods, Benjamin joined a search party to look for her. The entire team split into groups of four to systematically search, and Benjamin was grouped with Elle, Grant, and Maddy to explore a section. They didn’t have any luck finding the girl, but they did come across a strange clearing that had an oddly magical feel to it. As they paused there to plan how best to continue the search, a demon appeared. They didn’t have time to ask about the missing girl or run away, as the demon instantly froze them all in place. He cackled as he explained what he would do to them.

“Many have come into my home,” He said, “But they never leave at the same time or the same who as they were when they arrived. You won’t remember me or this clearing. Everything will be unfamilar, and you will have no idea why.” And with those words, the group passed out.

Benjamin could no longer remember entering the forest, but he now found himself stumbling out of it. A man approached him and addressed him, “Oh, Liz, that goodness you’re okay! Your husband and I have been worried! You said you were just going to go for a quick walk, but you’ve been gone for hours.”

“Liz? Husband? I’m not--” Ben asked before looking down and seeing a feminine body beneath a coat he now wore. He didn’t want to seem crazy. He had to pretend to be the woman he appeared to be, so he corrected himself, “Yeah, I’m sorry. Guess I just lost track of time. It’s just sort of magical in that forest.”

Messed Up

Trey had a hard time adjusting to his new body after the Great Shift swapped him with a woman. He had been a large guy before the Shift, and now he just felt so small and weak. He just couldn’t feel safe walking around his own neighborhood anymore. In fact, now when he did go out, he was sure to bring something in case someone tried to mess with him. It didn’t matter what. It could be a taser, a gun, or just a blunt object. Today he grabbed a bat. He still sat down and took a deep breath before heading outside. He hoped no one messed with him, but if they did, he was sure he’d mess them up!

Dip

Both Harry and John thought it was pretty cool when their girlfriends asked if they wanted to go skinny dipping. They didn’t question anything as the women lead them deep into the forest before stopping at a sparkling pond. After stripping down, no sooner had they put their toes in the water than the pool’s magical effects took place and soon Harry and John had swapped into their respective girlfriends’ bodies. As the two men freaked out getting dressed in their girlfriends’ clothing, the two women now in the bodies of Harry and John ran off. Two hours passed.

“Are you getting any signal?” John asked.

“Nope,” Harry replied, “I don’t think they are coming back.”

“Why would they want to steal our bodies?”

“I’m not sure, but we might have to face the fact that I am now June and you are now Marcy.”

John put his phone into Marcy’s purse. He pulled out her wallet and his eyes went wide, “Her name’s not Marcy. It’s Christina. Do you think they’ve been scamming us in some way this whole time. Oh, God!”

Susan arrived home to her quiet, suburban home to quite a shock. A truly strange woman with spiked hair and tattoos sat on the top of her counter drinking a beer. She reached for the phone to call the police, but the woman spoke first.

“Honey,” The strange woman said, “I know what this looks like, but it’s me, Alan, your husband. This odd woman bumped into me at the train station, then she started yelling at me. I just left. I didn’t even notice until I got home, but somehow I had swapped bodies with her, that woman. I used the hidden key to let myself in and grabbed a beer. God, I needed a drink to cope with this. I don’t know how she did this; I don’t know how to find her to force her to undo this...”

Susan seemed skeptical.

“I see that look in your eye,” Alan continued, “Ask me anything. Ask me anything that only you and I know.” It took several hours, but finally Susan was convinced. The strange woman in her house was, in fact, her husband. She hoped they could find a way to reverse this, because she knew she wasn’t going to be able to deal with it if they couldn’t.

Lose Track

Just how, exactly, does one lose track of where their own body is? For that matter, how does one end up in someone else’s body in order to be able to lose their own body in the first place? These were questions that Ethan was asking himself as he retraced his steps. He didn’t even notice that he was in the wrong body until he got home to reach into his pocket for his keys only to discover that his pockets were empty -- and the pants they were on were far tighter than he was used to and on a far more feminine frame than he was used to. He had swapped bodies with a woman -- but how and when!? He thought back. He knew he had his phone in the park earlier, he had used it to take a picture before putting it back in a pocket. He quickly returned to the park nearby, but there was no sign of his own body. Where the heck could it have gone?

One Time Use

Carlos had gone to the ATM about a week ago. He had taken out some money to spend on his vacation. Much to his surprise, he found that when he left the ATM, he was in someone else’s body! Inspecting himself, he appeared to be in a gorgeous, young woman around his own age. He shrugged. This was certainly going to be a one-of-a-kind vacation. And for the duration of the week, he enjoyed himself. Women got treated so nicely! Guys bought him drinks, doors were help open for him. But at the end of the week, he wanted to get back to his own life. He returned to the ATM, but there was a sign on the front labeled “Out of Order.” He was worried that he was going to be stuck like this for another day, but what he didn’t know was that once someone was changed by the Automated Transformation Machine, they were not able to ever use it again!

Thought About It

Joel had thought about taking his own life almost every day since the Great Shift swapped him into Laura’s body. The only thing that ever stopped him was that he felt it wouldn’t be fair to Laura. She was traumatized enough by the swap; he didn’t want to think of what it would do to her to see her own body in a coffin. And what if he did this and the next day someone found a way to swap everyone back? Still, he thought about it. A few times he came close, dangling a foot off the end of a building top. He was just having so much trouble coping. He knew he wasn’t the only one struggling; he knew he wasn’t alone, but it was just so hard being in someone else’s body...

Hard to Argue

It didn’t matter where Jorge went, reporters would swoon in an attempt to get an interview. He wasn’t surprised. After all, his brain was the first to be successfully transplanted into another person’s body. The donor body was a young woman named Sofia. Neither her nor Jorge had consented to the transplant and the procedure had been done in secrecy with no government oversight. All this made for a very compelling story, yet Jorge was usually quite shy about the whole thing. It was only in a moment of extreme frustration that he spoke this time about his feelings on the matter.

“I’m thankful to be alive,” Was his answer to one reporter, “My body was sick. I didn’t have long to live. What Dr. Collins did was illegal and against my will, but it’s hard to argue with being alive.”

Initial Test

The initial test of John’s invention had done quite a bit of damage to its inner workings. However, considering that he was now in Maria’s body, he also had to admit that his body swapping device was a complete success! He was actually feeling quite confident inside her body, but Maria was a little less patient. She insisted that John fix the device as soon as possible to get them both back to normal. John had tightened at least a dozen bolts already but many of the internal circuits were completely fried. The work was going to take at least a week to fix. This was news that he knew Maria would not be happy to hear.

Show It Off

Mark was a little more than excited when he found himself in Carly's body, and he couldn't wait to show it off. It took him quite a while to put together an outfit that he thought was slutty enough. He had dug through her closet to put on something that he felt was a good mix of Playboy bunny, sexy Halloween costume, and just plain hot. He walked down the stairs and strutted his stuff in the doorway, feeling pretty good about himself.

One More Out

The game was into extra innings, and Buster Jones was the final relief pitcher the team had. He was hoping to keep the opposing team from scoring any runs and stepped to the mound with confidence. Of course, that was all before the Great Shift. Panic struck the stadium as everyone found themselves in new bodies. Buster found himself in the stands inside the body of a female fan. There was some debate on how the game should move forward, but the rules seemed clear, there could be no more substitutions. This meant that Buster would have to pitch despite his new body. At first he thought his skills would transfer over with no problem, but the first pitch was a disaster. If he couldn't do better than that, he was sure to give us countless runs from simply walking players. His only hope was when he spied the body the other team's final relief pitcher wound up in -- that of a toddler! If he could only manage one more out on the top of this inning, there was no way that kid could get three!

Just Dance

Justin had arrived at the music festival with one purpose in mind: hitting on chicks. He often used the crowd as an excuse to touch many of them in rather inappropriate ways. This hadn't gone unnoticed by one of the women serving beer. She slipped a small amount of a magical potion into Justin's beer. Suddenly, his mind stopped obsessing over girls and started thinking about something else: dancing! He couldn't stop himself. He was just constantly busting a move. He was so caught up in it that he didn't notice the changes happening to him while he was doing it. His body thinned out and got more curves. The hair on his head raced down his back while the rest of his body became smooth. Even his clothes changed to reveal his new feminine form. The changes of the magical potion had taken effect, and he was now a total babe. The only woman's body he'd be touching any time soon would be his own.

Hula Hooping

Mike had always enjoyed hula hooping, but he was constantly made fun of by his sister. She teased him that it was a girlie activity, and she warned him not to do it at school unless he wanted to be bullied. So he kept his hooping love a secret. That is until a strange incident at school where Mike's entire class found they had swapped bodies with each other. For a short while, Mike felt devastated because he switched bodies with Joy, an exchange student from Taiwan. But after he thought about, he realized it might not be so bad. His sister's warning about hula hooping at school no longer applied. He could do it any time he wanted! In fact, his hula hooping soon made him one of the most popular girls in school. Is it any wonder why?

Cleaning Up

The plan was simple...Actually, the plan was needlessly complicated. The rich old man had security detail surrounding him all day, every day, but the criminal mastermind only known as "X" had a devious scheme. He had already stolen a top secret bodyswitching device and stationed himself outside of the old man's house. He used the device as soon as he saw a figure exiting the house. Unfortunately, that person was the man's maid. Still, it would allow him to get close enough to steal an amazing amount of money from the man's house...

Dorm Life

For the first month or so after the Great Shift, things didn't change much in the dorm room of Todd, Pat, and Fred even though Todd and Pat had been swapped into the bodies of two women while Fred were still a guy. Then, of course, after a night of heavy drinking the two men-turned-women bragged about how flexible their new bodies were. Fred asked them to demonstrate and the two obliged. It wasn't long before they all started getting ideas and complicating their relationships forever.

It looks like John kept his subscription to Great Shift Captions on DeviantArt and kept surfing onto Alicia’s Great Shift TG Captions one too many times. He keeps checking them both day after day in hopes that one day he'll get his old body back.

Quick Decision

Brandon hadn’t slept a wink since swapping bodies with that taxi driver yesterday. He was in shock when it happened, yet somehow managed to drive back to the cabbie’s filthy apartment, as if by instinct. He read the journal and immediately vowed to find a new body. It was a grueling task as he darted through traffic on the streets of one of the busiest cities in the world. Night was pretty dead, but the morning rush offered him hope. Sure enough, a woman headed to Times Square from Brooklyn had a ride that was just long enough to trigger a swap. He knew he didn’t have much time to decide. Her clothes looked expensive...and (of course) he’d be a woman. As she got out, he took a deep breath and said, “Have a nice day.” A gust of wind hit his face as he now stood outside. He had stolen the woman’s body, leaving her trapped inside the cab driver’s body until she stole a life of her own.

It's Electric

Sam had been working as an electrician for twenty years and he had never seen anything like his latest job. He was in the basement of a mansion that belonged to Cheng Bei, the daughter of a Chinese businessman. Wires were connected in illogical manners, and connected improperly. He was fixing up the last one when a bolt of electricity shot up his arm. When he came to, he realized he was in Cheng's body! He rushed downstairs to find Cheng in his body also starting to waken. She explained the house was cursed, but she had never expected anything to come of it. She also started yelling something in Chinese before explaining that he would have to go to a fancy dinner tonight as her while she worked to reverse the curse. Cheng spent hours dressing Sam in appropriate clothing and makeup, but she sighed as she saw him sit like the low-class slob he was...

Not Worth the Risk

Chip had been waiting for the bus for over half an hour, but he wasn't about to call a cab...not after last time. After all, that magic cab was why he was in this woman's body, why he now lived so far from everything. That weird taxi swapped him. First into the cab driver's body for a few weeks, then into this woman's, who was a passenger. He didn't know how it happened, but he vowed to never take a taxi again. He was enjoying his new womanhood, anyway. He was at least 10 years younger and never felt sexier. Another cab might just be a roulette wheel into another life. He had already won once, depite any odds! It just wasn't worth the risk.

Overprotective Mother

When I proposed to my girlfriend, her mother seemed mad. She told me I wasn’t good enough for her daughter and that she’d personally see to it that we would never be married. My girlfriend told me to not take it too seriously; these were just the types of things her mother said. Though the constant threats continued throughout our engagement. I tried to follow my fiancée’s advice and shrug it off, but it was difficult to do so.

Other than her mother’s belittling of me, things were going well, but I never could’ve expected what would happen next. I woke up on the morning of my wedding with the shock of my life -- I had woken up in body of my fiancée’s mother! I was in the body of a 50-something year old chinese woman! I tried not to panic. I put on her dress, which was more difficult and uncomfortable than I imagined, and made my way to the ceremony. I tried to think of what I could say to my bride-to-be to convince her of the truth. That would make her think I was really me and not her mom trying to up with a wild excuse to call of the wedding or just seeming absolutely crazy. When I realized I couldn’t, I just remained silent. Maybe we’d swap back later and this nightmare will be over. However, this seemed much less likely after later in the ceremony when my former body pulled me aside and told me, “I told you that you would never marry her. I will look after my daughter forever, no matter what it takes. Even if that means I am now you for good.”

Annoyed

Bob looked at the text on his phone. It was Renee. Again. This has to be about the hundredth time she'd contacted him since the two had swapped bodies. It's not like she ever had any knowledge of how to switch back; she'd always just see if he had found a way to do so. Honestly, he had stopped looking for a way to get his own body back a long time ago. He loved being in Renee's body, and her constant pestering was just getting annoying.

Couldn't Believe It

Jake couldn't believe it! He must've really pissed his wife off this time with his comments. He couldn't even quite remember what he had said. It was something like how all women had to do was bat an eyelash to get just about anything they wanted. Now she had placed some sort of curse on him, and he was a woman! He cursed. He could probably deal with all the make-up and the uncomfortable clothes, but the breasts he had were so large that his back was hurting!

Relaxing

Brandon should've read the promotional material more carefully. He had gone to the spa after finding a flier. Work had been very stressful lately, and he this resort's material had promised to make him feel like a new man. Actually, had he read it closely, it said it would make him feel like a "new person." The not-so-subtle difference soon became apparent as waters from the spa's magical pool cascading upon him, transforming his body. Though Brandon had an initial sense of panic, it all soon faded away. At least the experience was relaxing.
