The Next Avatar...

There was something wrong with the equipment connecting Jake to his avatar, and he had to escape his Na’vi form and return to his human body one last time. He groaned about it forever, wishing to return to the native peoples of Pandora. In his haste, he hijacked another console so that he could use someone else’s Na’vi avatar. He was initially surprised to find himself in the body of a female Na’vi! He really screwed this up, but when he tried to disconnect, he found that he couldn’t. The new avatar wasn’t perfectly compatible with his DNA, causing his original body to be killed in the process, and leaving his mind stuck forever in this new form.

Helmets

Otto lifted the helmet off his head while his former body on the other side of the room did the same. The strange invention had worked; he had swapped bodies with his friend, Janine. Amazed that it actually worked, the two placed back on the helmets to switch back. But something went wrong! The helmets weren’t working!

Live Together

Julian and Henry had both lost their girlfriends in the same week, and the two roommates decided to go to a bar to drown their sorrows in booze. Henry ordered a beer, and Julian ordered a white wine. As the two men discussed their problems, Julian started to feel strange. He didn't fully notice the transformation until it was all over, and two giant breasts hung from his chest.

"What happened to me?" Julian realized he was screaming in broken English with a very thick accent. He ran to the bathroom to look in a mirror and inspected his reflection. He was now the type of woman Henry often brought back to their place: foreign, beautiful, and very smart (but lacking in common sense--after all, any woman willing to sleep with Henry lacked common sense).

Upon exiting the bathroom, Henry made a pass.

"You think I go home with you? You crazy!" Julian shouted.

"You got to go home with me, Babe! We live together!"

When she first saw Ed's reaction of jumping around the room and grabbing her b**bs, Denise thought that maybe he had something to do with the strange flash of light that swapped their bodies. However, when she accused him, he seemed confused. "This isn't a dream?" He asked, "You mean this is real? Sorry, I mean, wow. I thought I had been hit on the head or something. I mean, I've got to admit that having bre*sts is just exciting, but I swear that I had nothing to do with causing this!"

Bill could only laugh at the coincidence. He had dated Brittany for three years before she broke up with him one night not too long ago. He thought he’d do anythign to see her again. It turned out the forces of the universe would take him up on that when the Great Shift caused him to swap into her body. "Bye, Brenda!" Philip shouted back to his old body after the two had accidentally swapped. Brenda was already having her doubts about how accidental the swap truly was. Philip just seemed too happy, too confident in her body. It didn't seem right. Shouldn't a typical straight male be a little more freaked out to be in a woman's body? Truth be told, Philip wasn't freaking out because being in a woman's body had always been a secret dream of his, something he never told anyone. It may have been an accident, but that doesn't mean he wasn't going to enjoy it!

Horribly Wrong

An experiment in the basement of the science building at the University had gone horribly wrong, resulting in an explosion. No one was hurt, but it had caused a strange body swap between two students: the nerdy Martin Klein and the popular Kelly Chow. Both were nervous at first, but the professors promised answers by tomorrow. When they arrived the next day, Kelly was disgusted by how Martin had dressed her body. He had made her look like a total geek. She nearly flipped out when the professors told her they wouldn’t be able to reverse the swap for at least a week. Martin was a bit more cool-headed. He took a deep breath and rubbed his temples. He couldn’t imagine the next week would be easy, but he was confident he could make it through.

A large crowd began to gather in Beijing as a strange light began to flicker in mid-air. There seemed to be no cause and no reason for it until a young woman fell out of the light before it quickly disappeared. Many with cameras pulled them out to get a photo of the woman who appeared out of thin air. She spoke, “Could someone help me? I think something went wrong. My name is Samuel Winston, and I am from California. I invented a teleporter, but I think something went wrong! This isn’t my body!” The only response he seemed to get were a few confused faces and some cheers. Everyone was speaking a language he didn’t understand. He asked, “Does anyone here speak English? Anyone?”

Getting Back

While some enjoyed the new lives given to them by the Magic Taxi, Phil was not among them. He had searched and searched for his old body in the hopes that he could swap back to himself again. After the cab started giving him unspeakable pains, he finally swapped with someone, a young woman. It certainly wouldn't have been his first choice, and if he hadn't been in so much pain, he probably would've been more thoughtful about the swap. Now he spent his days trying to take as many cabs as possible in the hopes of finding the Magic Taxi again, and maybe, just maybe, eventually use it to get back to his old body.

Jim had been vacationing in Hawaii minding his own business when he heard a scream in the distance. A Japanese woman was running on the beach, yelling her head off about something. She soon came to stand next to Jim and stopped. She looked at him momentarily, as if she was sizing him up. Then she took her hand, which held a strange looking medallion and pressed it to Jim’s chest before throwing it as hard as she could into the ocean. She stared at Jim without blinking as the changes started. Within a few minutes, she was now in his body and he was now in hers. Now in his body, she proceeded to run away. Jim was tempted to run after her but realized that the medallion must have caused the swap. He needed to find it first. He jumped into the ocean in search. The water wasn’t very deep in this area, so he hoped he could find it!

Kenneth was cursing as he searched the front seat of Karen's car. He was sure this is where she had put the Medallion of Zulu after the two had used it last night to swap bodies. He had even checked that it was still there right before going to bed last night. Though both had used the medallion in the past for fun, last night was an accident. Karen worked as a stewardess, and she had to leave for a long round trip flight a little more than twelve hours laster. Kenneth had to spend the morning getting ready as her. Then they planned to meet in the airport parking lot, quickly switch clothes, and let Karen on her way. But as Kenneth continued to search, time was running out. If he didn't find it fast, he'd have to do Karen's job and be stuck in her body for another few days.

One of them had placed water from the lifetime pass shower on it, and when David slid across he transformed. He cursed as it happened; he should have seen it coming. He asked when it would wear off this time. The other fell hushed, not wanting to tell him the answer.

Well, two could play at that game. She just needed to come up with a plan to do something horrible to his body as an appropriate revenge.

After a blinding flash of light, Brian could feel that something was wrong with his body, but he didn’t realize exactly how long until he looked down. He had become a woman! He didn’t realize at the time that he had actually swapped bodies with one due to a phenomenon that would come to be known as the Great Shift. The oddest part was that despite the changes, it didn’t feel all that weird. He knew his chest and butt jetted out further than before. He knew his hair was longer than he had ever worn it, but it all still felt reasonably normal. He almost expected to be falling over with this different body, unable to keep the most basic of balance, but he still stood there without any problem. He wasn’t sure if it was muscle memory or if even the most drastic differences between humans weren’t that different after all...

Transformation Booth

The booths looked like something out of the distant past. When they started popping up in cities, everyone began to wonder what they were. Cell phones had long killed the need for telephones booths, and these retro-looking ones didn’t even have a telephone inside. Instead, they just had a single large button where a telephone would have been in the past. Many were curious, but few ever dared to enter and press the button.

Finally, one day, curiosity got the better of Mark. He got into one of the booths, closed the door, and pressed the button. There was a flash of light and the next moments were filled with a rush that was more intense than the best amusement park ride, more colorful than the wildest light show. There was a sense of euphoria and joy until it all faded, leaving him feeling a little disoriented as he left the booth.

His first thoughts were about telling his friends they should try it or even thinking about going again himself. That is, until the disorientation faded. He realized the lights and the joy were all just distractions from what the booth really did to him -- it transformed him. He was now a woman, and he was in an entirely different location! The booth had swapped his consciousness with another user in another booth somewhere. He was now her, and she was probably now him. He thought about going right back in again -- no longer because of amazing experience, but because he desperately wanted to try to get his own body back.

Whenever Melanie walked into the coffee shop, no one working would want to deal with her. She was, quite frankly, a bitch. She would always shout that the order was never quite right. Today, Brad was the one making her drink, and he was preparing for the verbal assault that would soon follow.

Except instead of hearing her usual complaints, it was the screams of the entire shop that filled his ears. Everyone, it seemed, had swapped bodies. And of all the bodies he could have ended up in, Brad ended up in Melanie’s. He informed everyone that the shop would be closing for the day, and that only employees should stay behind.

As it turned out, the other staff had swapped bodies with people some distance away. Brad was now all alone in Melanie’s body. He might have to hear her annoying voice all the time now, but at least he could prevent it from complaining -- as he now had complete control over it.

In the Right Hands

I realized I just posted this on www.greatshiftcaptions.com, but it was messed up for most of the day before I fixed the sizing.

Neil had to admit that he had outdone himself with his latest invention. With what he had created anyone could make themselves look like anyone else. But it wasn’t a mere illusion, more like a transformation. He simply adjusted the settings and his body morphed from a 5’11” male weighing 200 pounds to a 5’4” woman at just a little over half that weight. Anyone touching him would only feel his now soft feminine skin. And even his own body would feel and react as if this was his actual body.

The potential for this technology was limitless. In the wrong hands, it could be used for criminal activities or to impersonate celebrities. In the right hands, it could treat gender dysphoria or used as a welcome vacation from one self.

But for now? Well, for now the invention was all in Neil’s hands. And it was time for him to test some limits and maybe have a little fun.

His dad had disowned him for being transformed into a woman. This wasn't his fault, but his dad acted like it was! Didn't he know that the Shift was random? Pop Star

Michael wished he could've gone to the pop concert tonight, but tickets sold out so fast! He was pretty bummed out as he sat on his couch, but then the world swirled around him and he was on stage in front of thousands of people. A few screams shouted out, but most people just seemed to look down at their bodies confused. Looking down to see the body of the pop star he would've killed to see earlier, he decided to address the crowd, "Did anything, um, weird just happen to anyone else?"

He went up to the urinal and zipped down his jeans, and instead of finding the usual penis, there was ... nothing! Upon further inspection by pushing down a frilly pair of panties, he found a vagina. Totally freaked out, he finally realized what everyone was so weirded out by earlier. Sure, it took Enrico a while to figure out that the Great Shift had affected him too, swapping him into the body of a woman he was standing next to, but no one ever said he was the sharpest tool in the box.

Until they could figure out a way, they figured they'd try to act as each other as best as possible. Michael wasn't trying to do his best getting dressed and putting on makeup in Helen's body. He looked in the mirror; and even though he had found this dress in her closet, he don’t think she had ever worn it. He had overdone something!

“Honestly, I’m quite happy with Ms. Li’s body. If I am to have my pick,” Trevor responded, “I pick her!”

“I don’t think you understand, Mr. Marx! If we don’t fix this error in the next few minutes, you’ll be stuck in her body forever!”

“What are you trying to convince me of? I’m honestly seeing no downside in just staying right here and keeping this body!”

Martin didn’t know where the words were coming from. His surroundings were quite unfamiliar. The last thing he remembered was driving back from college for the holidays. His parents had picked him up, and he got into an argument with his mom. The car skidded, and that was the last thing he could recall.

“Can you hear me, Martin?” The voice asked.

“Uh...” It was all Martin could manage to say.

“It’s okay. Don’t try too hard yet. The neuro pathways will take some time to adjust to your new body.”

“There’s good news and bad news,” A second voice spoke, “You were in an accident. We were able to save your brain, but your body was crushed. Your mother, on the other hand, was completely brain dead from her injuries. Doctor Brown did something miraculous. He placed your brain in your mom’s body to save you.”

Martin wanted nothing more than to scream upon hearing this, but he couldn’t seem to; his brain was still adjusting. He couldn’t believe he was now in the body of his own mother!

The Cult

Charlotte and Dennis had mixed feeling about the cult they had been talked into joining. They were made to wear all white all the time, but the food was good. There was no working, but they were subject to strange bodyswapping experiments. Right now Dennis felt weird with Charlotte's long hair and shapely figure. Charlotte felt equally weird with that dangled between her legs. Being in someone else's body certainly kept most cult members from running away...though Dennis was considering the possibility the longer he spent in Charlotte's body....
