Hitchhiker
Originally posted on December 30, 2013.
Lars wasn’t originally going to pull over, but he felt bad for the woman hitchhiker on the side of the road. She just seemed so desperate. Reluctantly, he stopped. The woman approached his car. She was only in her 40s, but the wrinkles on her face were already showing quite deeply. He guessed she was a smoker.
“Thank God!” The woman said, “I’ve been waiting for hours for someone to stop. You’ve got to help me get into town. I need to find my body.”
She could see the confused look on Lars’s face.
“I can explain,” She continued, “A few hours ago I picked up a woman at this very same spot. But when I pulled over, she did something. She switched our bodies...mostly. She had been young when I first saw her, but when we switched I became much older. I think my own body lost a few years before she drove off with it. I was a guy and now I’m a woman! It’s crazy! I know it sounds crazy, but you’ve got to believe me! You’ve got to help me out!”

Pull the Lever (Part 2)

Gin awoke to the sounds of fires crackling and the smell of smoke in the air. The explosion should have killed it, but he didn’t FEEL dead. He body ached as he blinked his eyes open. He knew he should get up and get out of there, but he was still trying to reason how he survived. He was sure it was just a matter of math, which he was usually pretty good at figuring out in his head; yet he couldn’t seem to do it now.
As he got to his feet, the answer became clearer; his body had changed again. He was much more feminine than he had been. He likely fused with another woman, possibly several. It used to be easy for him to triangulate things like where they must have been standing and how many just by thinking, but his brain struggled now. He considered himself lucky to be able to reason that his mind must have been fused this time as well with most of his genius gone in an instant. He still remembered who he was, the fusions, and the machine malfunction, but couldn’t remember why he had built the machine in the first place or what it was actually supposed to do. He certainly no longer had the ability to recreate the thing. He remembered plots of television shows he never watched and about promising to meet a friend at the gym tonight. Then another small explosion snapped him back to more immediate concerns. He picked himself up and started getting out of this death trap. He stumbled in the heels he wore, so he ripped them off and went barefoot. Knowing how to walk in those things was NOT something he remembered how to do either. But was that something he should remember?

Pull the Lever (Part 1)

“You can’t do it!” Jackson shouted at his business partner Gin, “We’ll never get it back up and running again. And if it’s not working, we’ll never get back to normal!”
“We have to shut it down! It’s malfunctioning!” Gin insisted, “And it’s already too late for normal. This thing is already literally merging people’s bodies together. It’s only going to get worse from here. It could start fusing us with animals or inanimate objects! You could end up with pigeon wings for arms! Or a watermelon in your head instead of a brain! Right now, we’re still lucky we remember enough to know HOW to shut it down. If my fusion with Nadine had gone the other way, she’d be standing here befuddled with her head and my body instead of the other way around.”
“But how are we going to get Nadine back? Or...Frannie?”
Gin heard the pain in his friend’s voice and frowned as he looked at Jackson’s one feminine leg, which had once belonged to Jackson’s girlfriend, Frannie. She was one was one of the first people merged into someone else when the machine started malfunctioning. He knew Jackson felt responsible.
“It’s not your fault, man,” Gin said, “No one expected this to happen. But she’s gone. Keeping this thing on isn’t going to bring her back. But shutting it down will stop anyone else from going through that pain. I’ve done the calculations; this thing is going to be exponential. That’s so many more loved ones gone.”
Jackson paused for a moment. “Do it,” He said.
Gin pulled with all his might, realizing how much more difficult this was for him now that he had Nadine’s weak muscles instead of his own. He then grabbed with the other hand, but it still wouldn’t budge. But then it finally started to move and he noticed Jackson behind him helping to pull just as the explosions began...

This Is How I Amuse Myself
Originally posted on December 30, 2023.
Lauren felt dizzy after getting off the amusement park ride. Something about it was much more intense than usual. As the dizziness settled down, she flipped out once she realized she was now in the body of some random guy! She desperately began to search the park for her former body; she finally found it as night fell. It was sitting on a bench holding an odd device.
“Give me back my body!” Lauren demanded.
“I’m afraid that’s impossible,” The man now in her body replied, “Our swap was a test -- a successful test! But I have placed pieces in the park, which will trigger a massive swapping event for everyone in the park. Well, everyone over there on that side of the park. I’ve quite taken to your body and I don’t plan on giving it up. But I think if you rush over there, you might be lucky enough to get a better body than my former balding, middle aged one.”
“Why the hell would you do this?” Lauren cried.
“It’s an amusement park, is it not? This is how I amuse myself. Now, you’d better hurry. I really think you’ll want to take your chances amongst the choas that’s about to happen...”

Hard Reset
Originally posted on December 22, 2024.
I had lost track by how many times I had died and the simulation had reset. Each time I would wake up back in the corridor and restart the mission. But this was seemed different. It was the same dreary corridor and I awoke with the usual grogginess, but there was a smell of perfume in the air.
As my other senses started to come into focus, I could tell what was different; the body they had given me this time was female. I had no idea if this was a glitch, or if someone was trying to play a prank on me.
I tried shouting, but I knew it was no use. As long as I was in the simulation, they couldn't hear me. I either needed to finally succeed or try to get reset again in the hopes everything would go back to normal.

Green Light

"Try to flip the switch now.” Jonah instructed after making a few adjustments before asking, “Is it green? Is the light green?"
"No," Tara said feeling disappointed.
"It's okay. I'm still sure it has to be a loose connection to the power supply. I've just got locate it." Jonah began to reach further into the apparatus which he had created that had swapped their bodies.
It was weird for Tara to see her own body work on the machine. But it wasn't seeing her body act like a mechanical genius that was troubling; it was the fact that she found herself attracted to her own body now that she was in Jonah's. She felt distracted by watching him, confused by what she was feeling as she was essentially admiring her own body. She wondered if she just wasn't used to having his male hormones, but he was also worried about what she might suggest doing if they didn't swap back soon...

New Age
Originally posted on April 5, 2020.
Grant didn’t like all the yoga and new age weirdness his girlfriend was into, and he often tried steering clear of it. But one day he decided to indulge her by participating; it was his biggest regret. For some reason, he was a bit of a natural, almost immediately hitting a near perfect zen-like state. But as he pulled himself back to reality, it became obvious he was going back to the wrong reality. The sky was green, the sand was pink, and Grant was now a woman. He quickly tried to get back in that state, but it was hard to ignore the distractions of his new body; the long nails on his fingertips, the large breasts in a tiny bikini, the long hair flowing into his face. He didn’t like this stuff before; now he hated it.

Early Arrival
Originally posted on April 10, 2020.
Ethan thought he’d surprise his parents by coming home a few days early from his college’s spring break. When he got there, his mom appeared to be out, but he heard some noises coming from his dad’s study. He opened the door and was surprised to see a young Asian woman standing there.
“Ethan!” The woman said shocked.
Ethan seemed confused that the woman knew him; he didn’t recognize her.
“I know this is probably unbelievable,” The woman continued, “But I’m actually your father. My work at the museum uncovered a strange medallion that could turn one person into another. I know you probably don’t believe me, but I’m stuck in Miss Cho’s body for the next two hours. After which, I can turn myself back to normal.”
Ethan still couldn’t believe the woman standing before him was actually his fifty year old father. And the idea of some sort of transforming medallion? It all seemed so far fetched. But why was this woman in his family’s house alone? And why would she make up such an insane story?

The Return

It was just a couple days ago that Dan had climbed this fence to escape; now he was climbing it to get back inside. He wasn’t sure of the extent of the weird experiments that were going on in this lab, but he knew what happened to him. They removed his brain and put it inside of someone else’s body -- a woman’s body. Despite this fact, when he saw an opportunity to make a run for it, he did. Trying to adjust to someone else’s life was just too weird. Maybe if it had been another guy or someone he knew a little more about, it would’ve been possible. But a complete stranger? A woman? Yeah, no thanks.
Dan also had concerns about the kinds of things this lab was doing to his original body. If they could swap brains, who knew what else was possible? He was certainly more than a little concerned about what could be happening to it in there. He knew he still had a lot to work out. How would he find his body? How could he force them to swap him back to normal? He hoped to form a more solid plan once he made it inside...

Technophobe
Originally posted on April 13, 2020.
Alex realized how quickly he was becoming a technophobe. Technology was just moving too far, and criminals now seemed to be the early adopters. Take the whole body swapping tech. Heck, it was even banned in his country, but that didn’t stop it from being used in illegal, criminal ways. As he was walking down the street one day, a woman hit him with such a device. Suddenly, Alex was now the one in her body, and she threatened not to give him his body back unless he took out $1000 from his bank account. Alex grumbled as he headed to the nearest ATM and did as she requested. Being somewhat distracted by the feminine body he now had, he didn’t react quick enough when the woman with his body grabbed the card and cash faster than he could. She had been peeking as he entered his pin. The woman then ran away. He had his body, his ATM card, and his pin number. He was sure she was going to do a lot of damage before he could report anything to his bank or explain things to the police.

Mischievous

About a month ago, Aaron had found the strange book among the shelves at his local store. Inside the pages were magic spells. He was skeptical at first until he tried one to see that it actually worked! He bought the book and brought it home.
What he didn’t know was the book itself had a curse, which would infect Aaron with a bit of mischievous chaos. In one of his bolder acts, he used a spell to swap bodies with his friend, Melinda.
After a few more chaotic spells, he decided the most mischievous thing he could do was quietly place the book back on the shelf for someone else to experiment.
After another few weeks passed, the curse would fade and Aaron would be horrified by the fact that he was forever swapped with Melinda. He’d return to the book store only to find the book had already been bought by someone else and was out there causing chaos for more people int he world.

Of Course

“How do...How do I look?” Ronald asked nervously while looking down at his feet. It had been tough for Ronald ever since the Great Shift. It was hard being swapped into the body of a woman, but not necessarily because of his gender. The body he swapped into had a chemical imbalance; he felt overly self-conscious with just about ever aspect of his body. He felt overweight and not pretty enough.
He kept looking to his wife to affirm how he looked. He tried wearing dresses and skirts to look prettier. He told himself that as long as he had he love, he could get through this.
In response to his question, his wife smiled and quickly came back with “Of course!”

The Teacher
Originally posted on May 28, 2018.
Back when he was in high school, Mark always had trouble concentrating in Miss Park’s class. All the guys had agreed she was the hottest teacher in school, and it didn’t help that she always wore short skirts. Of course, if looking at Miss Park was a distracting; actually being her was a bigger one! As Mark stood in front of the high school class awkwardly teaching Miss Park’s lesson for the day, he nervously pushed a strand of hair behind his ear and thought about how he got himself in this situation.
Mark actually hadn’t thought about Miss Park or any of his other teachers much in the five years since he graduated, but he sure did recognize her when he saw her at the supermarket. She was wearing the same short skirts he remember, and she even smiled when he said hello as she made it a point to remember her former students. But then Mark suddenly felt something at his back. It felt like he was hit by a giant truck or something. Whatever it was, the next thing he knew, his soul pushed into Miss Park’s body and her soul ended up in his.
She brought Mark back to her apartment, explained her lesson plans and what he had to teach for the next few days. Mark tried to pay attention, but he kept looking down and seeing those long, attractive legs. It was even weirder to think that those legs were now his! He kept hoping this was all a bad dream he would wake up from, but the next day, he awoke and found he was still in Miss Park’s body.
It got worse when he looked in her closet to get ready for the day to find that she didn’t own anything other than short skirts. He knew the day wasn’t going to be easy. And as he stood there he kept hoping it was only going to be a day. He felt so uncomfortable knowing all the guys in class were staring at him the way he stared at Miss Park five years ago...

Physical Therapy
Originally posted July 28, 2018.
After getting in a terrible car accident, Alfred awoke in so much pain. The doctor began to explain various forms of physical therapy to heal, but Alfred just snapped. He wanted the least painful method possible, and, because of his wealth, money was no object.
The next time Alfred awoke, the pain was gone. The doctor explained that Alfred had gotten a very expensive, experimental treatment to cope with his physical therapy. His therapist’s brain was transplanted into his body to deal with al of the pain and challenges of recovery while his brain was inside the body of the physical therapist.
Alfred was stunned. While he had said money was no object; he never expected anything like this. He was even more stunned when he saw the body he was going to in for the next two months. It was...a woman’s! And it was gorgeous!

Regulations
Originally posted on July 8, 2018.
After the body swapper was invented, many countries put heavy restrictions on their use. James hoped he’d avoid those laws by visiting a small island nation it the Pacific. He offered a local woman a relatively low price of $50 to swap with her for 24 hours. She eagerly accepted. After a day, he returned to the hotel and waited for her in the lobby. When she finally arrived, he smiled and asked if she was ready to swap back now.
The woman in his body pretended to be confused, “I have no idea what you are talking about? Do I know you?”
James’s smile turned into a frown. Suddenly he realized those regulations might have some benefit. As right now, he was likely going to be stuck in this woman’s body from here on out...

Trouble

“Do you know where your brother went, Miss Nguyen?” The police asked.
“No,” Tuan lied, “He left a few days ago. He didn’t tell me where he was going. Is he is trouble?”
“It seems that way,” The officer replied.
Of course, Tuan knew exactly what trouble he had caused. The money he had stolen was secure, and he was sure the police would never find it. Of course, it was obvious that he was the one who stole the money, and he needed to hide. That was where the second part of his plan came in. He had a medallion that allowed him to transform his body with merely a piece of clothing. He hadn’t planned on being a woman, but the police had responded so fast. The dress was the first thing he could get his hands on. After the transformation was complete, he put the dress on, and answered the door. He pretended he was his own sister, and so far the police seemed to be buying the whole thing...

Vacation?
Originally posted on July 10, 2018.
After a long twelve hour flight, Eric was very ready to start his vacation on Exchange Island. Unfortunately, instead of swapping with another guest on the plane; he swapped with the stewardess. This body didn’t have enough luggage for a two week trip and didn’t have a room reserved at the resort either. But it got worse, because it turned out Eric wouldn’t even be able to use that room even if she had. Seeing as he swapped with the stewardess, he was expected to make another trip to the mainland with this body and then come back once again to Exchange Island. It was another twenty four hours in the air before Eric would finally be able to relax, and this time he’d have to make the flight while serving drinks and giving a lecture on safety features. He tried to complain, but it was listed in the possibilities of the contract he signed when he booked the trip. All he wanted to do was start his vacation, and instead he just got a lot more work!

Wifely Duties

“Look, Mikey, you were the one that found that odd game in the attic and insisted we all play it,” Trevor argued, “We all experienced some pretty strange transformations while playing. I get that you and Marilyn ended up losing and got stuck swapped into each other’s bodies. But you still look like Marilyn -- like my wife -- and I’m thinking you still gotta do her wifely duties.”
“Wifely duties?” Mike asked without even turning around, “What the hell does that even mean, Trevor? I know it’s hard for you to get it through your pig-headed skull, but women are people. They don’t just have to do whatever men say or even what their husbands say. I doubt Marilyn put up with this sort of crap from you -- and even if she did -- don’t expect me to put up with anything like that. If you even think about muttering the phrase ‘wifely duties’ again, I’m going to punch you so hard that you won’t wake up for a week.”
