Second Time's a Charm

Ethan was pretty excited to be taking a taxi today. Of course that was because he knew exactly what was special about this particular taxi -- it was magic! He had been the driver of this taxi about a month ago, right after the previous driver had used the magic of the taxi to steal his body. And in turn, he proceeded to steal the young woman’s body he currently possessed. It was a bit of an accident on his part. He hadn’t intended to swap with her; he hated being a woman. But now he was going to have a second chance.

He faked getting a phone call and started talking very loud about “daddy’s money” and the “big inheritance” he should be receiving any day when “daddy kicks the bucket.” It was all a lie, of course, but he wanted to seem rich, spoiled, and undeserving. He wanted to make this body desirable but also unworthy -- in essence, a perfect target for any good natured driver of this magic taxi. Heck, it’d even work for any bad-natured driver also.

But the ride came and went and Ethan arrived safely at his destination without swapping once again into the body of the taxi’s driver. There was no “Have a nice day,” no $50 tip. He just stood on the curb wondering what he did wrong, and it he would get a third shot at riding in the magic taxi.

The Science Behind It

Once he had figured out the science behind body swapping, Harrison was excited. He knew exactly who he wanted to swap with, and there was very little she could do stop him. He was sure anyone else would target some blond ditz or someone like that. Harrison wanted to swap with Maris. He was sure that there was a gorgeous beauty hidden behind her conservative dress and glasses. A mix of a few potions and downing the result, he was able to transform into a spirit and possess her. He gave the biggest smile once he did. He could change her style, dress sexier, and let this body live to its fullest potential. The possibilities were endless.

They Both Did

Hot Dog

Ever since the Great Shift, Henry couldn’t shake Kelly. Since he had her body, she insisted that he eat what she wanted him to eat, that he do the things she wanted him to do. For a while, he could deal with, but after a while, he just wanted to go home and watch TV instead of going to the gym or grab a slice of pizza instead of a salad. She never let him. After about a week, he finally had enough. He snuck off and grabbed a hot dog. Sinking around the corner, he was sure she was nowhere around. However, just as he was about to take a bite, Kelly came around the other side.

“Don’t you dare!” She threatened.

Henry sighed before tossing the hot dog in the garbage. He really couldn’t catch a break.

Entry Level

Joseph was supposed to be excited; he was supposed to be preparing for his senior year of college next week. Instead, he was stuck in a crammed bus during rush hour, coming home from his sister’s entry level job. It was all thanks to a machine their dad had made, which swapped their bodies. Now he was stuck in the body of his sister, Mary, until their dad could fix the machine. Joseph had been quite miserable each day since the swap, but today had been particularly bad. He sat on the bus home; his sister was sure taking her sweet time to answer. He groaned when she told him that their father still hadn’t fixed the machine. Joseph snapped back that he had better do so before his classes started on Wednesday. Mary was a little more relaxed. She enjoyed the time off from work. All Joseph could do was give her a sour face as she tried to tell him to make the best of the swap.

Aftershocks (Part 1)

Thomas took a deep breath before opening up his laptop to type the first entry in his new blog.

“When the Great Shift hit, I thought I was one of the lucky ones.” He wrote, “I hadn’t been shifted; it was short-sighted. For the next year, I was quite arrogant about the fact that I still had my original body. But that all changed in an instant about two weeks ago. I imagine the experience was much like the rest of the world had the year prior: a period of extreme disorientation before finding myself in a new body. I swapped with a business woman of Asian decent who hadn’t been swapped in the original Shift either. It took a while for us to convince anyone to believe our story. Surprisingly, considering the entire world had swapped bodies not long ago. But there were soon other people reporting the same thing. Leading scientists couldn’t ignore it any longer and dubbed such swaps like mine as ‘Aftershocks’ from the Great Shift. These aftershocks happen in small pockets of two to twelve people -- at least, twelve is the largest so far. They seem to happen more often to people who weren’t affected by the original Shift, though no one is completely immune. It also seems that once you have been hit by an aftershock, the more likely you are to be affected by a future aftershock; these tend to occur a few months apart. I plan to chronicle my experiences here. Currently, I am still in the body of the Asian business woman. She is 5’2”, 32 years old, and 110 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes; she is single. I will continue to update you on all my future aftershocks.”

Back to Work

Craig had been going the same way to work every day for the past ten years. Of course, today was slightly different than most. It was his first day returning since the Great Shift. That meant he and the rest of his co-workers would all be returning in new bodies. He wasn’t very comfortable with his new body, but he couldn’t complain either. Sure, he was a woman now, but he had gone from being 40 years old to returning to around 20. He had nothing against being 20 years younger! With businesses opening for the first time today since the Shift, he hadn’t yet been able to purchase more work-appropriate clothing, but a memo circulated via email stated that the dress code would be lax for the first week back. Still, he hoped to be able to head to a department store on his lunch break in order to pick up something a little more appropriate.

“What do you miss most about your old body?” Ron asked Jerome.

“It’s weird being almost two feet shorter! That’s for sure!” Jerome replied, “And being a chick is a total trip as well!”

“I’m glad we didn’t lose our basketball scholarships!”

“Yeah, they passed that law after the Great Shift protecting that sort of thing. It might be playing that I miss most though.”

“Well, we can still play!”

“Yeah, but you know what I mean...like for the college team. They just recruited new players that would crush us now.”

“You may have lost a team, but you gained a good girlfriend,” Ron said as he laid his head on Jerome’s shoulder, “And I got a good one, too.”

“I love you too,” Jerome said giving Ron a kiss, “And I probably never would’ve realized that if not for the Shift, so I guess in a way it was all worth it.”

“Totally worth it. Now let’s play some hoops.”

It Started with a Kiss

It would probably be pretty fair to say that Dave was having an odd day. It started that morning when he kissed his girlfriend. He felt and odd twinge and suddenly found himself in her body. They kissed again and switched back. At first, they both convinced themselves that it didn’t really happen but Dave had an odd thought on the way to work. He decided to try an experiment and kissed a random woman on the street. Sure enough, he was soon in her body. He started kissing all sorts of people and swapping into their bodies, realizing he could use them to go all sorts of places he couldn’t otherwise go. For instance, later in the day, he kissed a woman on her way to the gym. After getting to experience the women’s locker room and take a dip in the pool, he saw another woman that he felt like swapping with and planted one on her lips. It was pretty much like this all day for him until he realized he needed to get home and had no idea where his original body was anymore!

The Chamber

Kevin was scared when Margot tricked him into entering a small tiled area then trapped him by closing a glass door on his face. He pressed his hands up against it, hoping to get out, but soon she hit a switch. He felt changes coming over him. He looked over at Margot to see changes were happened to her as well--she was turning into him! That must mean that he was turning into her! He looked down to confirm his fear. He had her tits, her soft skin; he was even wearing her clothes! The same purple jacket and everything! This was too weird! He screamed to be let out, but she just laughed at him, leaving him stuck... in more ways than one!

True Desires

However, he seemed to immediately adapt to his new role after the swap. Brett not only seemed to enjoy being a woman, but he also seemed to be quite content to be a subsurvient wife. Everytime Dan and his girlfriend, Tara, went out, she would complain about how dirty public restrooms were; she was always horrified that she might have to sit down on one. Dan felt she was whining and snapped at her one day. Though he apologized profusely for being so rash, fate seemed to have a way of stepping in. Things swirled about for a moment before they drifted back to reality. Dan and Tara stared at each other for about an hour before a word was spoken. They, like most others, had been victims of the Great Shift and swapped bodies. Several more minutes passed before Dan felt a familiar sensation...he needed to pee! When he went into the women's room he finally understoof Tara's disgust. Something did feel so much grosser about the public bathroom now! After placing toilet paper over the seat, he managed to squat hovering about the bowl before returning and admitting his foolishness. Tara accepted the apology and reached into her purse. She pulled out a tampon, "Oh, and you'll need this tomorrow."

Star Quarterback

The Great Shift was surely going to ruin the team's undefeated season. Though because the football team practiced in isolation, many players merely swapped with othr players, there were a few exceptions. One linebacker swapped with the fifty year old coach, but the team's star quarterback shifted with a woman walking just outside. He made it back to the field as quickly as possible, but everyone's hearts sank when the woman explained who she was...

Economic Woes

Jacob was in a depressed economic state. He had lost his job and was on the verge of losing his home as well. He had started pondering mugging a few women just to make ends meet, but when he came face to face with what would have been his first victim, he froze. He just couldn't do it for some reason. It was like he was looking into his own eyes. He simply felt compelled to wak away. Then he felt the urge to turn back and was shocked to see his old body. He had become his would-be victim, a woman in a puffy white coat and tight black leggings. This was surreal, but it also appeared that all his financial woes may now be behind him, though not in a way he had in any way expected...

When 80-year-old Eugene Banks found himself in the body of a 20-something year old at a night club, the first thing he did was get down on his knees and pray, "Please Lord, I am not sure how I ended up in the body of this young woman at this sinful place, but please guide me out of here to let me home safely. Soccer Mom

It was the first soccer game of Raul’s college career. He had gotten a small scholarship to be the first in his family to attend university, and his parents were even in the crowd gathered under cloudy skies. Raul had managed to score the only goal by the time the rains came at around the half (not bad for the college freshman), causing a delay. While they waited, a bolt of lightning struck the field causing a phenomenon that had never been recorded before or since -- a mass body swap. Players, referees, coaches, and fans all found them swapped around. Raul ended up in the body of his own mother! He was now around 40 years old and a woman, but he wasn’t going to let either of those deter him. Once the rains cleared, he insisted on continuing to play. The refs discussed canceling the game completely, but enough players were like Raul and insisted going on. Raul realized the odds were against him. The other team mostly swapped with other players (either on the same team or his) and one now had the body of a professional who was in the stands. Despite this, his team pulled off the win. To the top it off, the only other goal scored after everyone was swapped was Raul, despite now being in the body of his own 40-year-old mother.

Strange Storm

It was strange because there wasn’t a single drop of rain that day; there hadn’t been a weather report that predicted anything other than sun. Yet the storm that day changed so many lines, mine included. I was on an evening jog when it happened. My wife had been encouraging me to get more exercise since I started gaining weight after turning 40. I figured it was just my male body getting older, but seeing me get in shape made my wife happy, so I did it. I was resting on a bench when it happened. People who saw it said it was like a lighting bolt coming out of nowhere hitting me in the head. And these bolts didn’t just hit me. Estimates ranged from 10 to 15 percent of the population was struck. And after being struck, we all ended up somewhere else, inside a body of someone else who had been struck. I ended up about a mile away, inside the body of a 25-year-old woman I’d learn was named Danielle. I chuckled thinking my wife would probably be happy now that I was no longer overweight, but that she might be less happy about the fact that I was now female. Still, we tried to make it work as best we could.

Scientists could never quite figure out how it worked. They classified it as a “weather phenomenon” and theorized the electrical current was centralized in the atmosphere and never lost that central connection even when multiple bolts his simultaneously. These bolts essentially fried our brains and transmitted the signals up to the central current before being sent back down to a different location. I was never sure if that was even plausible, but there was no way I could deny the results of what happened.

When the Great Shift hit while Jason was at a concert, he ended up swapping with the show's star. From his new position on stage, he could see the chaos in the crowd and anticipated a riot might break out soon. Feeling a bit of social responsibility with the microphone now in his hand, he decided to overcome the discomfort of the immodest leather outfit he now wore and spoke to the audience. He told them that he assumed they were swapped, just like he was, but that panic wouldn't get anyone anywhere. The masses slowly calmed as people began to sort out who was who.

Diet

Peter knew about Ashley’s diet; he just didn’t particuarly care. Yes, he had swapped bodies with Ashley, so this was her body. But he was the one controlling it, and he wasn’t about to spend a week eating salads and wheatgrass. Sure, he’d imagine she’d be pissed when they swapped back and she found out about the entire pizza he ate in one sitting or the triple bacon cheeseburger he had in another. The weird thing was he didn’t have any problem scarfing it all down either. He figured she’d have a smaller stomach that would just get full. But he also knew he had his own brain that was used to eating big meals. He guessed the psychology won out over the physical space in her stomach. Or maybe she had just starved herself so much that her body was just happy to accept the gluttony for a change. Much like her diet, he didn’t particularly care the reasoning, he was just glad that despite the fact that he had her body, he didn’t really have to change his lifestyle.

Unique Version of Hell

Tolerance

In an effort to foster understanding and tolerance at the university, all incoming freshmen were required to switch places with another student for the first week of classes. With the advancement of body swapping technology, the swap wasn’t just a theoretical endeavor.

After settling into his own dorm, John found himself on the floor of a different room with his head pounding. He couldn’t believe he was a woman -- he was just thankful that her style didn’t seem too girlie. Apparently, swapping with the opposite gender was fairly common. The college felt it was important for the male students to understand the difficulties that incoming female students faced. In fact, since implementing the program a few back, incidents of harassment on campus have dropped by a significant amount...

In Shape

Before the Great Shift, Fred was a fat, disgusting slob. He hadn't always been, but he had let himself go. It was just so easy to slide down that slippery slope, and then never be able to get fit again. When he looked down at his firm and tone body after the Shift--even if it was a woman's body--he knew he wasn't going to let them happen to himself again. Every day he exercised for a solid hour by running, biking, or just doing yoga. He was in the best shape he had ever been in his life! Though it didn't hurt that his new body's shape was pretty fantastic to begin with!

While others reacted to the Great Shift with nervousness or curiosity, Jeffery reacted with pure excitement and glee! He jumped up and shouted with joy after finding out that he was in the body of a seriously sexy woman. Wearing only a small bikini allowed him to immediately appreciate his curves. At the age of 63, Miles only enjoyed golf these days. Sure, he had been athletic in his youth, playing many sports, but time had certainly affected his body. The Great Shift, however, would change things for Miles once again. Being young and energetic meant an entirely new life for Miles. Kyle couldn't believe his mom was making him go out to dinner with the family looking like this! When his family got to Exchange Island, he swapped into the body of a gorgeous woman. He just wanted to hide in their room until the week was over, but his mom insisted that they go out to dinner. He groaned; reluctantly throwing on some jeans and a t-shirt. His mom disapproved. They were going to a nice restaurant, and told Kyle he had to dress nice. She picked out a dress for him and did his hair and makeup.
