Carl could see an upside to being in a new body as a result of the Great Shift. The house he found himself in was huge, with a walk-in-closet and everything. He wasn't exactly comfortable about being a woman, but he supposed he could deal with it. He just wished that the woman owned some other type of shoes besides high heels! She had an entire walk-in-closet, and he just couldn't believe that she didn't own a single pair of flats! The flats he did find in there seemed to be men’s shoes that didn’t fit his feet, which begged the question of who they belonged to!

Mike never would’ve described himself as a good father. He didn’t even know he was a father until an ex of his contacted him on his daughter’s two year old birthday. He tried to just ignore her existence, and even that worked for another year or two. He tried a bit, but his heart just wasn’t into the girlie things his daughter wanted to do. On her fourth birthday, he figured he’d just buy her a nice present and be done with the child.

He wasn’t quite sure what compelled him to stop in the odd shop or why he was drawn to the music box with a ballerina inside. But it was a reasonable enough price, and the exactly the sort of thing his girlie daughter would love. On her birthday, he gave her the gift and simply headed out, thinking he’d never see her again. He was wrong.

The next morning, he awoke on a wooden floor with pink fluffy pillows all around. The light in the room seemed to be shaped like a keyhole. He quickly realized he was wearing silver heels, a pink tutu, and a tiara. He looked for a door, but there seemed to be no way out. Mike was panicking when a floor of light shone in the room. He felt compelled to dance, and he couldn’t stop himself from giving a robotic ballet performance to tinny music. As he looked around, he could see his young daughter towering over him, and he realized the horror of his situation. He was the miniaturized ballerina in his daughter’s music box!

As Evan started to walk away, Julia shouted, “Come back! You need to fix this!”

Evan sighed turning his head, “I understand the events that transpired; I do not know how to recreate them. And I assure you that I did not anticipate becoming each other.”

The last thing Julia wanted was this nerd out of her sight with her body, “You don’t know the first thing about being a woman! How will you even cope?”

“I assume it is...manageable.”

Julia laughed, “You won’t make it through a week without my help.”

Celestial Event (Part 1)

Julia had been walking on campus, paying more attention to her phone than where she was going. At the same time, Evan has his nose in a book, also seemingly oblivious to those around him. Just as the two were about to bump heads, a beam of light shone between them.

Evan was a bit more prepared for what just happened. He grabbed the glasses from his former face and the book from his old hands.

“Fascinating,” He said, “The celestial event transpired exactly as predicted, but I never could have expected spacial displacement of my corporeal form into another’s anatomy.”

Julia’s processing took a bit longer, but was slightly more blunt. “Holy shit,” She whispered, “I swapped bodies with a dork.”

How to Switch Bodies

Keith was quite surprised when he blacked out for a moment. His eyes opened a moment later to a very different sight. He was now in his friend Nicole’s apartment; even stranger, he was now also in her body. He thought about calling her, but instead he noticed a book on the end table. It was open to a page with a title that read “How to Switch Bodies.” Keith continued to read the book. It seemed the instructions were quite complicated, involving many exotic ingredients. Keith had no idea how Nicole was able to pull it all off, but considering he was now in her body, it was obvious that she had pulled it off. He continued to read. He only hoped he could use these instructions to swap back with Nicole, but he had no idea how he was going to find some of the items listed, and even if he did, the instructions of mixing the magic potion seemed quite complicated!

Thought About It

Joel had thought about taking his own life almost every day since the Great Shift swapped him into Laura’s body. The only thing that ever stopped him was that he felt it wouldn’t be fair to Laura. She was traumatized enough by the swap; he didn’t want to think of what it would do to her to see her own body in a coffin. And what if he did this and the next day someone found a way to swap everyone back? Still, he thought about it. A few times he came close, dangling a foot off the end of a building top. He was just having so much trouble coping. He knew he wasn’t the only one struggling; he knew he wasn’t alone, but it was just so hard being in someone else’s body...

Not What He Wanted

Larry had been stuck in that cab driver's body for a few weeks, and he was sick of it! However, no passenger ever met the minimum fare to be able to enact the magic taxi's swapping ability. Luckily, Larry's prayers were answered one day when a young woman took the cab clear across town. He hadn't wanted to be a woman, but it looked like he was going to have no choice. Being a woman wasn't exactly what he would’ve wanted to be, but it didn't matter. As she got out of the taxi he said, "Have a nice day," and the swap was done. Larry was now stuck as her.

Laced

He still couldn't believe that he was trapped in his sister's body. In many ways it felt sort of weird, but when his sistr's boss makes a pass for him later that day, he'll find that it can be weirder than he could’ve ever imagined...

Spellbook

Gary had always liked his girlfriend's boobs, but since they swapped bodies, he's had an entirely new perspective on the matter. He now felt all of her insecurities about them being too small. He wasn't sure how or why he had swapped bodies with her, but it was eye opening for each of them into the other's lives.

Cold Feet

Brent couldn't believe it--only a few hours before his wedding, he got a sudden case of cold feet. He started worried about being tied down and wished that he could somehow get out of this. As he made this wish, his vision started to blur, and his image in the mirror changed. He was all of a sudden in a room with his fiance and the bridesmaids--he was now one of them! His fiance's younger sister to be exact. Somehow it had happened; he was off the hook! He wouldn't have to get married now! He wasn't sure how it happened, but he was thankful.

Honeymoon

Nick couldn't believe he was wearing his sister's wedding dress; heck, he was wearing her entire body! The night before the wedding, they were playing aroung with a strange medallion that caused them to swap bodies. After reading up on the internet they learned that they would be unable to swap back for 12 hours. His sister freaked. Her wedding was much sooner! Nick calmed her down and told her that he would pretend to be her for the wedding and reception, which would lat until just about 12 hours later; they'd swap back right before her husband whisked her off to the Honeymoon. She didn't like the idea, but she figured she had no choice. Now Nick was in his sister's body about to marry her husband. Little did he know of her husband's plans to sneak his sister away from the reception early for the Honeymoon.

Yoga

Even though Marilyn and Vicki had just swapped bodies with their husbands, Paul and Ron, they were very insistant on keeping their bodies fit and tone. The wives made their men perform their daily yoga exercises, practice to fitness videos, and eat their strict diets. Paul and Ron had no idea all the work their wives went through to keep their bodies looking good. Of course, keeping the woman's bodies in shape would prove to be even more difficult after the two husbands both found out that they were pregnant.

More Interesting

It was only two days ago when Ron and Michelle swapped bodies. Despite the oddness of being in his own wife’s body, Ron thought everything was going smoothly. He still hoped to switch back as soon as possible, but he was managing quite well. In fact, on the second day, he was able to run through his wife’s morning routine without any assistance. He took a shower, put on makeup, and even managed to pick an outfit that he thought his wife would approve of. Then he went down to the kitchen, made himself a protein shake, and began to start his daily work-from-home responsibilities. That’s when he saw the note.

It was folded up in the middle of the table, neatly written in his wife’s handwriting with his name on it. He opened it up and began to read. It explained that she was leaving; she just couldn’t handle being swapped. Or, more precisely, she was able to deal with being a man, but it was hard to watch Ron in her body.

Ron took a deep breath, trying to take it all in. Michelle’s body was going to be his now, and he was probably never going to see his own body again. If the last two days were interesting (and they certainly had been), things going forward were going to get even more so.

Oh, My God!

No Financial Advice Tomorrow

Tim had been enjoying a nice, quiet evening at home, trying to forget the stress of his daily life as a financial consultant. As he fell asleep on the couch watching the early news, the Great Shift struck. He soon found himself in the body of a beautiful clubgoer. Immediately, as did many around him, he began to explore his new body when a woman approached him. She claimed to be the boyfriend of the body he was currently in, and asked if their relationship could still somehow work. Tim decided that for tonight, he would pretend to be one of the few people unchanged by the Shift. I mean, after the confusion of the Shift, they really wouldn’t expect him at work tomorrow, right?

Stuck

When five o’clock hit, the elevators at work were always crowded. It was probably the worst time for the Great Shift. When it hit, the elevator stopped. People were packed in so tight that it was hard for some people to figure out that they were even swapped. Eric knew something was wrong since he went from being the tallest in the elevator to being the shortest. When the elevator finally resumed and opened up on the bottom floor a half hour later, he pushed his way to be first out. He now discovered that he wasn’t just shorter, he was also a woman! Doug also realized he was now a woman as well and let out a scream. It was a bit like a delayed reaction compared to the other people in the lobby, many of whom were already starting to adjust to their new bodies. Still, for everyone who had been trapped in the elevator, this was the first chance to really have some space to see and feel their new bodies.

Hours Later

While most people had swapped bodies with someone else in the local area, it turned out Adam had swapped bodies with someone clear across the country. He was pretty grateful that he had gotten an offer for someplace to stay until they got planes back in the air. Borrowing the clothes of this man’s girlfriend was an awkward experience for him, as she seemed to mostly wear dresses and skirts. He would often put on an outfit in the morning and stare at himself in the mirror for a long time. Seeing the face of a woman stare back at him was still so strange to him. He figured it was probably pretty weird for the guy he was staying with too. Adam offered to help find the man’s girlfriend (she hadn’t made contact since the swap), but it was hard to imagine what else they could do but wait. Waiting seemed to be the name of the game on a lot of fronts.

Don't Be a B*tch

Steven sighed. Why did his girlfriend have to be such a jerk to that witch? When the two accidentally bumped on the street, she screamed at the old woman and called her a b*tch. The next thing Steven knew, his girlfriend was on all fours, barking, and growing hair all over her body; she was turning into a dog! Steven sternly demanded of the witch, “I want my girlfriend back here...now!” The witch smiled and nodded. Steven felt his body shift around his vision momentarily went black. When he could see again, the witch was gone, and his girlfriend was sure back -- because he was now in her body. He picked up the dog his girlfriend had become and took it back to their apartment, frantically searching for a way back to normal.

Constructive

There were plenty who were devistated by the results of the Great Shift. Those who felt that they just couldn't live life in a new body, but there were just as many, if not more, who wouldn't let a small thing like being a new body get them down. Mike Taylor was a construction foreman before the shift, and continued to go to work every day after it. Sure, he got a few hoots and whistles for a few days, but the construction workers soon got used to their now female boss.

Not Worth the Risk

Chip had been waiting for the bus for over half an hour, but he wasn't about to call a cab...not after last time. After all, that magic cab was why he was in this woman's body, why he now lived so far from everything. That weird taxi swapped him. First into the cab driver's body for a few weeks, then into this woman's, who was a passenger. He didn't know how it happened, but he vowed to never take a taxi again. He was enjoying his new womanhood, anyway. He was at least10 years younger and never felt sexier. Another cab might just be a roulette wheel into another life. He had already won once, depite any odds! It just wasn't worth the risk.

Dropped

Just as Greg walked up to the door of his own house, he dropped his purse on the ground, and the contents spilled all over. But as he put them back in, he was shocked as to what was missing: the medallion! He was sure he had put it in here; it had to be in here! If it wasn’t in here, then he wouldn’t be able to swap bodies back with Esther! He’d be stuck as her forever. He panicked as he began to dig through the contents. Sure, he had an interest in trying out being a woman for a bit, but the past twelve hours had been awful. Running around in heels was awful, the purse was annoying, and wearing a skirt around wasn’t fun either. And now he was going to stuck like this? He wanted to scream.

Too Much Power

Zach was indeed proud of his new invention, a bodyswapping machine. He asked his wife to try it out with him, and it was an instant success. The two swapped bodies, but the machine started sparking. Zach made a few tweaks to the invention before the switch back. A few screw twists and knob turns later and they were ready to go back to being themselves. However, this time when they turned the machine on, more sparks flew, and it blew out the power on the entire block. When Zach came to, he was in the body of their attractive neighbor, a model, who was on her way to a party. His wife was in the body of a young neighborhood boy, who the other children often referred to as a bully. It seemed like everyone on the block was now someone else, and the finger was pointed straight at Zach to fix the mess. Unfortunately, the power surge had destroyed several circuits. Zach went to his garage and proceeded to try and make the fixes as fast as possible as a very impatient crowd looked on. The model insisted that if things weren't corrected in the next hour, he would have to go to the party in his place. Of course, she didn't seem all too threatening from the body of a 70 year old man.

Normal

Craig was a little surprised how quickly things got back to normal after the Great Shift. He would've expected a massive worldwide bodyswapping event to have canceled the semester, but classes at his college started up again within a week. Sure, it was a little hard to figure out who was who, and he himself had to be assigned a new room in the girls' dorm, considering his new situation. However, as he went to lunch in the cafeteria, things just seemed unbelievably normal....

Fire Burning

When the fire started, George knew he needed to get out of the building fast. It didn't matter that he wasn't in his own body. But as he exited, the thought occured to him, wasn't Julie inside of his body still inside? And what about the Medallion of Zulu? Would he be able to find the magical object in the ash, or would it be burnt to cinders, leaving him stuck inside of Julie's body? He certainly couldn't run back into the firey building to find either....

Karen

Karen thought she couldn’t have been more horrified when she looked down to see two large, masculine, dark-skinned hands with fingers reacting to her own movements. That is until she looked up from them to see her own face smiling back at her.

“Hope you enjoy my life,” Karen couldn’t believe she was hearing her own voice say those words, “Because I sure as hell am going to love being your entitled ass.”

“How --? Why --?” Karen could only seem to say single words, still quite unused to the deep voice she now had.

“You got me fired! You know most people don’t complain about coffee being too hot. They just say thank you and wait a little longer or add a little more milk. But not stuck up bitches like you. Luckily, my grandma was a witch and taught me a thing or two. Thanks to a little spell she gave me, you’re going to be broke and out of a job, and I’m going to be driving around in a luxury SUV.”

“But I have a husband! And a child!”

“Being a man myself, I’m pretty sure I know what one likes. Your man will be in good hands with me. Plus, I’m sure I’ll raise your kid in a way that doesn’t turn them into the same type of spoiled brat that you grew up to be. Now, if you don’t leave me alone, I will call the police. Maybe Not an Accident

“Dude, why does Matt’s mom come to every practice and sit in the bleachers?” Alex asked another student on the football team before waving out to her, “Hey, Mrs. Lee.”

Matt uncomfortably waved back before dropping his hands awkwardly between his legs. It was still unbelievably weird to him how he had swapped bodies with his friend’s mom. He was pretty sure that she was going to ruin his life, so he tried his best to keep an eye on her when he could -- that included watching her at football practice. What may have been even weirder was that she seemed to be doing well; not just in terms of playing football, but also just being a social eighteen year old man. He was wondering if maybe it was all planned. Maybe she had actually wanted his life; maybe the swap wasn’t an accident...

Skinny

The Great Shift was a little unbelievable for Will. The very idea of swapping bodies was a little outlandish to begin with, but even the young woman he swapped with was something else. Her name was Elizabeth. She was so skinny. He looked down and wondered how her frame could even be supported on such skinny legs. Then again, her entire body was skinny.
