I recently turned this into a comic on DeviartArt, but here is the original caption series!
I did also consider how surreal this was for the woman who swapped into my body. She was still in the back of the room, now watching her own body perform like an idiot to music she probably hated. And while I was surrounded by friends through this; she had to deal with being surrounded by strangers. I realized I'd actually have to talk to her one-on-one after I was done.
After unplugging everything and putting it away so the next band could set up, I went over to talk to her.
"That was...interesting," She said. That reaction wasn't exactly an uncommon response to my typical performance, but I had a feeling tonight that word took on a particularly unique meaning.
"Well, I'm sure it's weird seeing your own body perform like that," I replied.
“Yeah, sure, there's that. But there's just so much more energy in the live setting compared to the recordings on your website."
THAT statement I never imagined. I wanted to ask why; I wanted to ask if she was a fan or just researched all the bands on a bill before showing up. Instead I just awkwardly stood there and blushed. It was a moment when I truly felt like a girl, like a girl who had just been called "pretty" by a cute guy. Except I wasn't called "pretty," I think it was my music that actually got a compliment. And despite my initial assumptions, maybe being stuck in this particularly woman's body wasn't so bad. At least she had decent taste in music.
